I specialize in standard and modified pipe tomahawks using heads from
R.E. Davis in 4140 carbon steel. The head is hardened and tempered in the forge and can be used as a cutting tool, just like the originals.
Hafts are normally made with curly maple but I also use hickory, ash and occasionally, walnut, sassafrass and osage orange.
